5-Day Devotion on Ruth: For Military Wives Struggling with Loneliness

Hey there friend! I am so glad that you are wanting to jump into this devotional! (Even if you’re not a military wife, there are great applications and pointers for dealing with your loneliness.)

When I read through Ruth recently, it struck me how similar her situation was to many military wives’ situations today. I knew that this was something I needed to write about. But even better, to make a devotion about. Something that women and military wives can dig deeper into and study alongside the written portions. Something that YOU can apply to your own life when dealing with moving, re-settling, and feeling lonely in the process.

I want to walk you through the life of Ruth today and the next few days and devotions. If anyone experienced the kind of loneliness military wives deal with, Ruth is the one. We are going to look at the same situations Ruth endured that can easily cause anyone to feel lonely. But we’re also going to look at what she did in order to conquer her loneliness and how she did it. As you read the passages and these devotions, I want you to keep in mind everything you’ve learned about who Jesus is: His character, His actions, and His sacrifice. I promise, this will make more sense towards the end, but I still want you to keep these things in mind as you go through this.
